Kere commenced his Softball career in New Zealand in the 1970s. He represented New Zealand Black Sox in 4 World Championships (1988, 1992, 1996, 2000). Kere coached the WA state team from 2002 and was WAIS Head Coach up until 2009. He was Assistant Coach of the Australian Women's team at the 2004 Athens Olympics and of the Australian Men's World Champions, the Aussie Steelers, in 2009.

2009: Men's World Championships Assistant Coach, Saskatoon, Canada – gold medal

2002-2009: WAIS of Sport Head Coach
1996 & 2000: Black Sox, World Championships – gold medals
